Learning, Caring, Growing Together

Welcome to St. Bede C of E Primary Academy

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you all.  Here at St. Bede C.E. Primary Academy, we pride ourselves on our safe, caring and engaging learning environment with high standards and expectations.

Everyone at St. Bede is passionate about our vision ‘Learning, Caring, Growing Together’. The vision, our core values and the Parable of the Good Samaritan underpin all of our learning experiences. Our links to St. Bede Church and local Pastors further supports our strong Christian ethos.

We have a dedicated and enthusiastic team who work together to ensure all our children make excellent progress, regardless of their starting points. Our bespoke curriculum ensures that all children are provided with a broad and balanced curriculum taking into account their interests, needs and talents. We are proud to have specialist teachers in Music, Modern Foreign Languages, Computing and Art who teach from EYFS to Year 6.

At St. Bede the mental health and well-being of our staff, children and families is of paramount importance. Our Safeguarding and Pastoral team, including our full time Learning Mentor, ensure that children feel safe, are happy and enjoy coming to school.

We are committed to ensure that all our children leave St. Bede having developed the lifelong skills of positivity, resilience and independence. We foster a love of learning and a determination to succeed.

I am incredibly proud to be part of the St. Bede family and hope that our website will give you an insight into life at our school and what makes it a very special place to be.

Anna Black, Headteacher

Our Vision and Values

Our vision is shaped by our distinctively Christian ethos and the teachings of Jesus. Our school Ethos Group chose the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10 v 25-37) to explain why, as a Christian School, our vision to learn, care and grow together is important.

  • I have been a part of this school for a number of years through my children attending and I love it.  It feels like the 'family' ethos is genuine.  I like the updated communication methods including Dojo and the MCAS App, which keeps me up to date, involved and in touch with the class teacher.  This is especially important to me as my child attends out of school club daily so I do not benefit from daily interactions with the teacher.
